Abuja: The Royal Impressive Club, Abuja, has made a charitable contribution to the National Hospital Abuja, donating cash and food items to 46 indigent patients. This initiative aims to support vulnerable individuals undergoing treatment at the hospital.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, the beneficiaries were selected from six different wards within the hospital. Each patient received N10,000 and food items to help alleviate the financial strain associated with healthcare costs. The recipients comprised patients from the male surgical, female mental health, paediatric surgery, In-Patient Paediatric (IPP), female medical, and male medical wards.
Dr. Benjamin Ogbeide, President of the Royal Impressive Club, stated that this outreach underscores the club’s dedication to assisting vulnerable Nigerians and supplementing governmental efforts in healthcare provision. He emphasized the club’s mission to aid those who cannot support themselves, highlighting that the government alone cannot address all needs. The 28-member club, composed of professionals from various fields, remains committed to enhancing the welfare of society’s disadvantaged members.
Dr. Ogbeide also revealed plans for a future medical outreach aimed at providing free healthcare services to approximately 500 vulnerable individuals. This program will offer medical consultations, treatment support, and financial assistance for healthcare-related expenses.
Prof. Muhammad Mahmud, Chief Medical Director of the National Hospital Abuja, expressed appreciation for the club’s timely and impactful intervention. He noted that such gestures foster hope among patients and emphasized the importance of partnerships in healthcare delivery. Mahmud encouraged further collaborations with organizations and individuals willing to contribute to patient welfare.
The outreach event saw participation from the club’s Convener, Chief Solomon Ojuekaiye, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Col. Akin Moses, and other board and executive committee members.
