Post: Adebayo Outlines SDP’s Vision for 2027, Urges Stronger Democracy

Abuja: The presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Prince Adewole Adebayo, has called on Nigerians to make use of democratic freedoms to strengthen governance ahead of the 2027 general elections. Adebayo in a statement on Friday said the country faced challenges including unemployment, insecurity, poverty, and infrastructure gaps.

According to News Agency of Nigeria, Adebayo stated that many Nigerians were experiencing economic hardship and called for improved government performance in key sectors such as education, healthcare, and job creation. He noted that ‘many Nigerians are asking questions about unemployment, access to education, healthcare, and general living conditions.’

The SDP candidate also urged the protection of multiparty democracy, emphasizing that political competition remains important for accountability and national development. He called for broader political cooperation among stakeholders, noting that efforts to address national challenges should go beyond party lines.

Adebayo referenced provisions of the Constitution relating to social welfare and governance, stressing the need for policies that prioritize citizens’ well-being. He said the SDP, if elected, would focus on expanding access to education, improving healthcare delivery, and creating employment opportunities.

He also pledged attention to key sectors of the economy, including agriculture, industry, and infrastructure, as part of efforts to stimulate growth and reduce poverty. On security, he called for strengthened measures to address insurgency and other forms of criminality across the country.

Adebayo stated that the party would field candidates for all major elective offices in the 2027 elections, including the presidency, National Assembly, governorship, and state assembly positions. He described the SDP as committed to social democracy and inclusive governance. The convention brought together party leaders, delegates, and supporters from across the country.
