Abuja: Mrs. Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire, a former deputy governor of Lagos State, has called on members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and residents of the state to back President Bola Tinubu’s bid for re-election. She also emphasized the importance of supporting Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, the Lagos APC governorship candidate, as the 2027 elections approach.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, Orelope-Adefulire made these remarks during an interview in Lagos. She highlighted the achievements of the Tinubu-led administration, noting its efforts in laying a foundation for national development. Furthermore, she described Hamzat as possessing the necessary experience and competence to continue the state’s development journey.
“President Tinubu has shown courageous and visionary leadership through initiatives aimed at positioning Nigeria for sustainable growth. Similarly, Hamzat has demonstrated competence and loyalty, along with a commitment to the progress of Lagos State,” Orelope-Adefulire stated.
She elaborated on Hamzat’s qualifications, noting that his extensive government service has prepared him to build on the achievements of previous APC administrations in Lagos. “Hamzat understands the needs of Lagosians. His experience and dedication to public service make him the right person to lead Lagos forward,” she remarked.
Orelope-Adefulire praised the APC’s record of impactful governance, infrastructural development, and people-centered policies. “The party has earned public trust through its consistent delivery of democratic dividends. I urge Lagos residents to maintain their support for APC at all levels,” she added.
She encouraged party leaders, stakeholders, and supporters to stay united and focused throughout the electoral process, emphasizing that unity is the party’s strongest asset. “Victory is guaranteed when we remain focused, united, and committed to our shared vision of building a greater Lagos and a more prosperous Nigeria,” she said.
Orelope-Adefulire also urged eligible Nigerians to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and participate actively in the upcoming general election. “Every eligible citizen has a responsibility to vote and support credible and capable leaders,” she emphasized.
Expressing confidence in the electoral outcomes, she concluded, “I have no doubt that President Tinubu will continue to reposition Nigeria, while Hamzat will make Lagos proud by building on the state’s legacy of excellence and progress.”
