Post: ANAN Plans Major MCPD Programme in Yola with Over 2,000 Participants


Yola:The Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN) is set to host over 2,000 participants for its 2026 Mandatory Continuing Professional Development (MCPD) programme in Yola.



According to the News Agency of Nigeria, Alhaji Usman Ahmed, Chairman of ANAN’s Adamawa Branch, announced that the event will take place from October 12 to October 14, focusing on the theme “Climate Change and Sustainability Reporting.” The programme aims to enhance participants’ expertise in accounting and sustainability through various sub-themes.



Ahmed highlighted that the sessions will be led by experienced scholars and professionals. He also noted that ANAN, established in 1979 and chartered by Act 76 of 1993, focuses on advancing accountancy science and setting professional standards.



The Nigerian College of Accountancy, ANAN’s training arm, plays a key role in providing professional qualifications for graduate accountants. The MCPD programme is designed to update the knowledge of existing accountants on current developments.



The event will include courtesy visits, technical sessions, a gala night, syndicate discussions, and the induction of new members. Security measures are being coordinated with local agencies to ensure participant safety throughout the event.
