Igbokoda:The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) is leading the search and recovery operations following an accident involving an ATR-42 aircraft, NAF 931, which occurred in Igbokoda, Ondo State.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, the Director of Public Relations and Information at NAF Headquarters, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, shared a statement on Wednesday in Abuja detailing the ongoing efforts. Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, the Chief of the Air Staff, expressed appreciation for the dedication and professionalism displayed by NAF personnel and the support from various agencies and stakeholders involved in the operation.
The stakeholders assisting in the efforts include the Nigerian Army, Nigerian Navy, Nigeria Police Force, National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Ondo State Government, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Amotekun Corps, Hi-Tech Construction Company, local authorities, community leaders, and volunteers. Ejodame highlighted that these coordinated efforts exemplify strong inter-agency cooperation and a commitment to national service during challenging times.
He emphasized NAF’s dedication to conducting the recovery operation diligently and safely, in collaboration with all relevant parties. The public will continue to receive appropriate updates as the operation progresses.
