Nasarawa: Mahasin Usman-Attah, an aspirant for the Awe/Doma/Keana Federal Constituency on the All Progressives Congress (APC) platform, has distributed food items worth millions of naira to the vulnerable at Agbashi community of Doma Local Government Area, Nasarawa State. Usman-Attah stated that the initiative aimed to alleviate the sufferings of the people and bring smiles to their faces.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, Usman-Attah highlighted that the donated items, including rice, semolina, beans, sachets of tomatoes, noodles, salt, and seasoning cubes, were primarily intended for widows, orphans, and the elderly in the community. She committed to extending such gestures to other vulnerable groups across the constituency to better connect with them and understand their challenges.
Usman-Attah acknowledged the difficulties women face in politics, especially in a male-dominated environment. She noted that no woman has ever won an election in the area, strengthening her resolve to succeed and demonstrate that women can significantly contribute to the nation’s development and security.
She expressed her intent to foster genuine development in the area, prioritizing infrastructure such as the road from Doma to Agbashi. Usman-Attah emphasized her focus on girl-child education, empowerment programs for women, youth, and the elderly. Furthermore, she pledged to sponsor quality bills and introduce motions that ensure peace, create employment opportunities for the youth, and attract development and investment to complement state and federal government efforts.
The aspirant held consultation meetings with various groups, expressing her intentions to contest for the House of Representatives and seeking their blessings. Additionally, she visited the palace of the Utushoho of Agbashi, Moses Adigashi-Alade, and Alh. Adamu Ogah, District Head of Agbashi, for consultations and royal blessings.
Beneficiaries of the food items in the community expressed their appreciation for Usman-Attah’s commitment to their welfare. Sarah David, a beneficiary, shared with newsmen that the gesture brought relief and hope, expressing optimism that Usman-Attah’s representation would transform the constituency if given the opportunity.
