Post: APC Chairmen Launch Nationwide Project Inspection Tour Ahead of 2027 Elections

Lagos: The All Progressives Congress (APC) State Chairmen’s Forum has embarked on a nationwide inspection tour of projects executed by APC administrations in preparation for the 2027 general elections. The forum announced the initiative following a comprehensive three-day meeting and project inspection in Lagos, culminating in a visit to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

According to News Agency of Nigeria, the forum’s Chairman and Lagos APC Chairman, Mr. Cornelius Ojelabi, outlined the objectives of the nationwide assessment during a press briefing at the Lagos State Government House, Marina. Ojelabi emphasized the importance of the tour in evaluating the achievements of APC administrations, with Lagos chosen as the starting point due to its significant developmental progress under successive APC governments.

Ojelabi noted that the ruling party currently governs at least 32 states in addition to the Federal Government, making regular assessments critical for verifying governance achievements. He highlighted that the inspection is designed to provide party leaders with tangible evidence of performance to present to voters during election campaigns.

Chief Jarrett Tenebe, the forum’s spokesman and Edo APC Chairman, stated that members spent two days inspecting projects initiated by President Bola Tinubu and the Lagos Government. Tenebe affirmed that the projects speak for themselves and are to be showcased across Nigeria as evidence of the President’s commitment to development.

The forum also engaged in extensive discussions on the 2027 general elections, resolving to maintain similar engagements nationwide and strengthen collaboration with APC governors and grassroots structures to enhance mobilisation efforts. Meetings in Abuja are planned to address challenges and ensure a peaceful electoral process.

Dr. Aliyu Bello, the forum’s Secretary and Nasarawa APC Chairman, praised the inspected projects in Lagos, noting they exceeded expectations. He confirmed that a retreat for APC state chairmen is in the works, with Kano chosen as the venue for the next meeting.

Governor Sanwo-Olu welcomed the forum’s initiative, urging members to focus on party unity and grassroots mobilisation for the 2027 presidential election. He encouraged continued collaboration and leadership among the chairmen to position the APC for future success.
