Post: APC Governors Commit to Address Democratic Challenges in Nigeria


Abuja: The All Progressives Congress (APC) governors, under the aegis of the Progressives Governors Forum (PGF), have resolved to address the challenges facing Nigeria’s democratic landscape. This decision was made during a meeting held in Abuja, which concluded in the early hours of Tuesday.

According to News Agency of Nigeria, the PGF, an umbrella body of all serving APC governors, convened to discuss pivotal issues, including the outcomes of the party’s primaries, the recent governorship election in Ekiti, and various by-elections. Gov. Hope Uzodimma of Imo, who is also the Chairman of the forum, emphasized the commitment of the governors to ensure the well-being of Nigerians and to tackle democratic challenges.

Uzodimma, speaking to journalists after the meeting, highlighted the governors’ resolve to collaborate with the party’s leadership in preparation for the 2027 presidential and National Assembly elections. He expressed confidence in the party’s readiness for future electoral contests.

The meeting saw the attendance of governors from Ekiti, Zamfara, Taraba, Lagos, Sokoto, Kano, Kaduna, Gombe, Kebbi, Akwa Ibom, and Borno States, among others.
