Abuja: The All Progressives Congress (APC) National Assembly Legislative Aides Support Group (ANALAG) has initiated a campaign to mobilize support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election and the return of APC lawmakers in the 2027 general elections. Mrs. Ayoola Fakunle, the National Coordinator of ANALAG, announced the group’s intention to garner at least one million supporters in each of the 36 states.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, Fakunle emphasized that the group, comprised of legislative aides and supporters of lawmakers, would utilize its grassroots structures to back the president and APC candidates in the upcoming elections. She expressed the group’s commitment to support Tinubu due to his contributions to Nigeria, highlighting the performance of the lawmakers as commendable.
Fakunle praised Tinubu for his decisive actions in tackling economic challenges, such as the removal of the fuel subsidy. However, she called on the government to enhance support for sectors like education, healthcare, and young graduates to mitigate the economic reforms’ impacts. The group plans to begin nationwide grassroots mobilization following its activities in Abuja, with coordinators already in place across the 36 states.
Mr. Mike Anibueze, the National Secretary of ANALAG, reiterated the group’s mission to formally launch its mobilization efforts for Tinubu’s re-election and the return of APC lawmakers. He stressed the importance of sustaining government interventions in critical sectors affecting citizens’ welfare.
Mr. William Onyemaechi, a group member from the South-East zone, highlighted the strategic position of legislative aides in mobilizing support due to their close ties with constituencies. He encouraged Nigerians, particularly the youth, to back the administration, acknowledging key reforms like the fuel subsidy removal and efforts towards local government autonomy.
Hajiya Halimat Akokhia also voiced her support for Tinubu, affirming the group’s readiness to rally voters for his re-election. She stated that the administration had made progress since taking office and assured continued support for the president’s initiatives.
