Post: Azerbaijan Movement Rallies Grassroots Support for APC in Lagos Ahead of 2027 Elections


Lagos: A group, Azerbaijan Movement, on Monday launched grassroots mobilisation for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State, targeting early voter support ahead of the 2027 general elections. The Convener of the movement, Mr Abayomi Omotayo, said at the rally that it was aimed at consolidating grassroots support for APC candidates, from the presidency to the state level.

According to News Agency of Nigeria, Omotayo stated that the movement would also sensitise residents about the infrastructure projects and economic programmes of the President Bola Tinubu administration. He noted that the movement’s objective was to mobilise votes for APC candidates while facilitating communication of grassroots needs and emergency interventions to elected representatives at the federal and state levels.

Mr Oluwafisayo Faleke, Chairman of APC at Ward B, Ifako-Ijaiye Local Government Area, remarked that the rally was significant in creating early awareness of the elections among residents of Ifako-Ijaiye. Faleke h
ighlighted that the movement plans to extend its mobilisation to the ward level and campaign for APC candidates at the presidential, senatorial, house of representatives, governorship, and state assembly levels. He emphasized that the initiative would strengthen awareness of the party and its candidates ahead of the elections.

The Leader of Seventh Legislative Arm in Ifako-Ijaiye, Mr Adebo Kayode, commended state leaders for their efforts in advancing the state. He attributed the large turnout at the rally to good leadership and mentioned that the gathering provided an opportunity to highlight the activities of the party’s political leaders.

A youth, Miss Esther Afolabi, urged political leaders to give greater attention to young people in governance and political participation. She called for more employment opportunities for the youth as well as educational support.
