Brazzaville: The World Bank Group has appointed Ms. Alexandra Célestin as the new Country Manager for the Republic of Congo, effective October 1, 2025. Ms. Célestin will oversee the operations of the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD), the International Development Association (IDA), the International Finance Corporation (IFC), and the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA) in the country.
According to World Bank, Ms. Célestin’s role will focus on maintaining and strengthening working relationships with the government, private sector, and other stakeholders. Her appointment is part of efforts to unify World Bank Group leadership at the national level.
Ms. Célestin succeeds Ms. Louise Pierrette Mvono, who has returned to her home country to take on new responsibilities.
