Post: Bauchi APC Guber Aspirant Supports Banditry, Flood Victims with N27m

Bauchi: Former Gov. Mohammed Abubakar of Bauchi State has donated N27 million to victims of flooding and banditry in Alkaleri and Kirfi Local Government Areas of the state. He presented the donation to the victims on Sunday during a sympathy visit to Alkaleri, Kirfi, Bara, and Sabongarin Pali communities. Abubakar, who is seeking re-election on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), said the visit was to identify with the people, assess the level of damage, and provide immediate relief to affected families.

According to News Agency of Nigeria, the APC flag-bearer donated N17 million in cash, 200 bags of rice, and 50 bags of sugar to the communities of Bara, Kirfi, and Alkaleri. The communities were previously affected by flooding that displaced hundreds of households, submerged farmlands, and damaged critical infrastructure. In response to the recent bandit attacks in Sabongarin Pali, which resulted in multiple deaths, abductions, and livestock rustling, Abubakar also donated N10 million.

He handed over the cash and relief materials to traditional rulers and community representatives to ensure transparent distribution to the most vulnerable households. The governorship hopeful reaffirmed his commitment to the communities, promising to support them until their livelihoods are restored. He emphasized the importance of community welfare, stating that it remains a top priority for the APC.

Abubakar pledged to tackle the challenges facing the communities if elected in 2027. His plans include investing in flood control and drainage projects, enhancing community security, supporting rehabilitation programs for victims, and improving humanitarian assistance and emergency response services. He urged the people to maintain their faith and called on relevant agencies, philanthropists, and individuals to aid the victims.
