Post: ‘Behind The Scenes’ Scores Biggest Opening Weekend at Box Office


Lagos: ‘Behind The Scenes’, a movie produced by Funke Akindele, has achieved a major milestone by earning more than N200 million in its opening weekend, marking the biggest opening weekend for any film in 2025. FilmOne Entertainment, the film’s distributor, also highlighted that the movie recorded the highest admissions this year with 34,548 viewers.



According to News Agency of Nigeria, the film delves into the hidden struggles and emotional costs associated with success, generosity, and public perception. It provides an insightful look into the contrast between public personas and private realities. In a post shared on its official Instagram page, FilmOne expressed gratitude to Nigerian movie enthusiasts for their overwhelming support, anointing Akindele as the queen of the box office.



The company stated, “We call her the queen of the box office for a reason. Thank you Nigeria for showing up, filling cinemas, and spreading the word. ‘Behind the Scenes’ crossed N200m in just one weekend, broke five opening weekend records, and became the biggest opening of 2025.”



The movie, ‘Behind the Scenes’, tackles themes of hidden emotional battles, societal pressures, and self-care, while examining the disparity between how individuals are perceived publicly versus their private realities.
