Post: Bureau of Public Procurement Commences Verification of Redeployed Officers

Abuja: The Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP) has commenced a post-deployment verification exercise for Procurement Officers on Salary Grade Levels 15 to 17 recently redeployed across Federal Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs). A statement issued by Zira Nagga, BPP’s Head of Press and Public Relations, specified that this physical verification aims to confirm the assumption of duty by the affected officers at their new duty posts.

According to News Agency of Nigeria, the exercise aligns with Circular Ref. No. BPP/DG/2026/M/20, dated March 23, 2026, concerning the deployment of procurement officers on SGL 15 to 17 in the Federal Civil Service. The verification process is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, June 30. This initiative is part of the bureau’s efforts to strengthen institutional capacity, ensure the proper placement of professional procurement personnel, and enhance compliance with the Public Procurement Act, 2007.

Nagga directed all affected procurement officers on SGL 15 to 17 to complete the handing-over and taking-over process before the verification exercise commences. He also urged heads of procurement units and accounting officers in the affected MDAs to fully cooperate with the verification team and ensure that all concerned officers are duly informed.

Meanwhile, the Director-General of the BPP, Dr. Adebowale Adedokun, affirmed the bureau’s commitment to building a professional, accountable, and efficient procurement system in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu. Adedokun emphasized the importance of proper deployment and verification of procurement professionals to promote transparency, value for money, and integrity in public procurement across the country. He advised affected officers and MDAs requiring further clarification to contact the Head of Administration of the bureau.
