Post: Children’s Day: FG Reaffirms Commitment to Inclusive Education, Child Development

Abuja: The Federal Government has reaffirmed its commitment to providing inclusive and quality education for every Nigerian child, regardless of background or disability.

According to News Agency of Nigeria, the Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Alausa, emphasized this commitment during the 2026 Children’s Day celebration organized by the Federal Ministry of Education in Abuja on Wednesday. The event brought together children from various schools and backgrounds across the country and featured young disability advocate and actress, Dera Osadebe.

Alausa highlighted Children’s Day as a moment to celebrate the creativity, resilience, and potential of Nigerian children. He stressed the importance of continued investment in their education and wellbeing as a means to nurture future generations. The minister noted that the celebration aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, focusing on child development, inclusive education, youth empowerment, and improved access to quality learning opportunities.

The minister lauded Osadebe for her efforts in promoting awareness and inclusion for children living with disabilities and autism, noting that her advocacy is inspiring important conversations on empathy, inclusion, and equal opportunities for all children. Alausa encouraged children to believe in themselves, cultivate their talents, and make positive contributions to society.

He stated that children are central to the nation’s future, and it is imperative to create opportunities that allow them to learn, grow, and succeed. Dr. Alausa assured Nigerian children of the government’s unwavering support in establishing a conducive environment for learning and personal development.
