Post: COAS Emphasizes Discipline and Welfare Initiatives for Nigerian Army

Abuja: The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt.-Gen. Waidi Shaibu, has urged troops of the 6 Division Nigerian Army to maintain discipline and dedication as they fulfill their essential role in safeguarding critical national infrastructure. This directive was part of his maiden operational visit to the division’s Area of Responsibility in Port Harcourt.

According to News Agency of Nigeria, the Acting Director of Army Public Relations, Col. Appolonia Anele, released a statement detailing Shaibu’s address to the troops. Shaibu highlighted the critical nature of their work in supporting the nation’s economy and emphasized the importance of their role in protecting national assets. He urged the soldiers to remain disciplined, committed, and dedicated to their mission, noting that their performance has a direct positive impact on the country.

Shaibu reiterated his commitment to the welfare of the troops, citing ongoing initiatives such as the construction of additional accommodation, renovation of existing quarters, and improved access to quality education for soldiers’ children. He assured the soldiers that they would receive what they deserve and are entitled to.

The COAS further encouraged the troops to follow their officers’ guidance, stressing the significance of teamwork, discipline, and operational excellence. The visit concluded with an interactive session where soldiers had the opportunity to discuss operational and welfare concerns.
