Abuja: Karu, Nasarawa State The Director-General of the Nigerian Copyright Commission (NCC), Dr. John Asein, has called on the commission’s staff to bolster their practical knowledge and competencies to improve teamwork and service delivery. This directive was given during the opening of a two-day capacity building workshop in Karu, Nasarawa State.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, the workshop was a collaborative effort between the NCC and the Michael Imoudu National Institute for Labour Studies (MINILS), focusing on ‘Work Ethics and Values for Effective Service Delivery.’ Asein, represented by Mr. Umoudo Etete, Director of Finance and Accounts at the commission, emphasized the importance of continuous learning and professional development in adapting to the rapidly changing environment.
He highlighted that the program was meticulously designed to equip participants with practical skills, enhance competencies, and foster effective collaboration to achieve organizational goals. Asein encouraged active pa
rticipation and engagement in the workshop discussions and practical sessions, which are crucial for building greater competence.
Expressing gratitude towards the management and facilitators for organizing the training, Asein voiced confidence that participants would emerge better informed and inspired to apply their newfound knowledge in their roles. He extended a warm welcome to the facilitators from MINILS and wished everyone a successful training experience.
Issa Aremu, Director-General of MINILS, represented by Dr. Raji Michael, also addressed the participants, urging them to pay close attention throughout the training. He emphasized the significance of networking and collaboration, noting that effective partnerships are vital for the success of the commission’s unique mandate.
Mr. Seun Popoola, Deputy Director and Head of Human Resources Management at the commission, remarked on the importance of capacity building as a priority for the Federal Government. He stated that the training aligns with Presi
dent Bola Tinubu’s directive for public servants to continually enhance their leadership capabilities and service delivery.
Popoola stressed the necessity for staff to be adequately trained to fulfill the commission’s mandate effectively. He encouraged participants to exhibit positive changes in their work attitude and behavior, emphasizing that the NCC’s reputation relies on the quality of services provided to stakeholders.
