Post: Crime Prevention: 200 Edo NSCDC Personnel Undergo Specialised Courses


Benin: The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has trained more than 200 personnel in Edo on specialised courses aimed at strengthening security operations and intelligence gathering in the state.

According to News Agency of Nigeria, the training covered Very Important Person (VIP) protection, disaster management, public safety, security intelligence, crime prevention, and correctional administration.

Speaking during the certificate presentation on Wednesday in Benin, Mr. Saidi Akintayo, State Commandant of the corps, stated that continuous training and retraining of personnel remained critical to effective security operations. He emphasized that the trainings have improved the command’s operational efficiency, intelligence gathering, disaster response, anti-vandal activities, and conflict management across the state.

Akintayo highlighted the importance of continuous capacity building and exposure to modern security techniques and global best practices for any security organisation to effectively disc
harge its mandate. He assured that the command would continue investing in human capital development to ensure officers remain professionally equipped to tackle emerging security threats.

He also commended the Commandant General of the corps, Ahmed Audi, for reforms and leadership initiatives that have improved professionalism, operational effectiveness, and personnel welfare nationwide.
