Abuja:Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mr. Nyesom Wike, stated on Tuesday that President Bola Tinubu’s administration has provided unprecedented recognition and political inclusion to FCT indigenes, surpassing previous governments.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, Wike made these remarks during a media chat with journalists in Abuja. He challenged critics to assess the administration’s track record concerning the appointment of original inhabitants of the territory into senior federal cabinet positions and key administrative roles.
Wike emphasized that the political and infrastructural achievements under this administration are unmatched in the territory’s history. He addressed long-standing issues regarding delayed chieftaincy upgrades and the formal issuance of staff of office to newly elevated traditional rulers, confirming that all administrative approvals have been finalized.
He assured traditional leaders and residents that official presentation ceremonies and the issuance of certificates to elevated first-class and third-class traditional rulers would occur soon. Wike reiterated the FCT Administration’s commitment to accelerating project execution across all six area councils.
