Bokkos: The Plateau State University (PLASU), located in Bokkos, has awarded an honourary doctorate degree to the former Minister of Defence, Lt.-Gen. Theophilus Danjuma, Rtd. This recognition was part of the university’s 8th and 9th Combined Convocation Ceremony held recently.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, during the ceremony, the university conferred on Danjuma an Honourary Doctor of Business Administration and Ethics. The Vice Chancellor of PLASU, Prof. Shedrach Best, stated that the honours were given in recognition of Danjuma’s contributions to nation building. Prof. Best highlighted Danjuma’s significant role in business and the growth of the Nigerian economy and society.
In addition to Danjuma, Mr Iyinoluwa Aboyeji, a tech expert, was awarded an Honourary Doctor of Information Technology and Entrepreneurship. Prof. Best emphasized Aboyeji’s contributions to the information and communication technology sector, as well as his influence in revolutionising business and the financial sector. The Vice Chancellor also noted Aboyeji’s impact on motivating young entrepreneurs and showcasing the potential of youth enterprise.
In his response, Danjuma expressed gratitude to the university for the recognition. He extended his appreciation for the inclusion of Aboyeji, acknowledging the young Nigerian’s efforts in contributing to nation building.
