Ota: The Deeper Christian Life Ministry announced on Thursday that it will be conducting free medical outreaches, including surgeries, as part of its Global Crusade with Kumuyi (GCK) scheduled for August in Ota, Ogun. The announcement was made during a press conference held by Pastor Joseph Fasanmi, the Deeper Life Bible Church (DLBC) Overseer for Ogun West, who revealed that the medical initiatives will precede the crusade set to occur from August 26 to August 30.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, the crusade is set to take place at the Anglican Church Grammar School, Abebi, Ota, and will be supported by the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Ogun West Chapters. The five-day event carries the theme ‘Total Transformation Through Christ’ and aims to address the spiritual, moral, and social needs of the residents of Ota.
Pastor Fasanmi emphasized that the crusade is not just a religious event but a movement of hope and renewal. He highlighted the transformative power of the initiative, stating, “When the heart changes, homes change. When homes change, communities change. When communities change, nations change.” The event is open to all, regardless of religious, social, or political backgrounds, and will feature the church’s All Believers’ Conference with the theme ‘Perfect Deliverance in a Shifting World’ and the Impact Academy for Youth, designed to help young people overcome limitations.
Dr. Olalekan Sokan, a member of the event’s organizing committee, outlined the medical and humanitarian interventions planned by the church. These include a maternal and child health outreach and multiple medical outreaches offering free surgeries, consultations, and care across several locations in Ota. The free surgeries will be conducted by medical specialists on August 24 and 25, and prospective beneficiaries are required to undergo pre-surgical screenings.
The church will also conduct a prison outreach to deliver spiritual and humanitarian support to inmates. Pastor Ayo Afolabi, the DLBC South-West Coordinating Overseer, and Pastor Gbadura Saka, Ogun West GCK Chairman, called on Ota residents to participate in the programmes with faith. The initiative has garnered full support from local religious bodies, with representatives from the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria and the Christian Association of Nigeria expressing their backing for the crusade.
