Abuja: Dr. Paul Enenche, Senior Pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Centre (DIGC), has generously donated a patrol vehicle to the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) to bolster road safety enforcement efforts in the bustling city of Abuja.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, the donation ceremony occurred on Sunday at the church premises in Abuja. During this event, both Dr. Enenche and his wife, Dr. Becky Enenche, were honored as Honorary Special Corps Marshals. Dr. Enenche emphasized that this gesture was part of the ministry’s commitment to serving both God and humanity. He highlighted the importance of translating love for God into actionable service for the community.
Dr. Enenche noted that the donation aims to save lives and facilitate the tasks of FRSC personnel, particularly along the heavily trafficked Airport Road corridor. He expressed concern over the recent increase in road accidents and stated that the partnership with the FRSC is intended to reduce such incidents. He emphasized that their faith in God compels them to act in service of humanity.
In her remarks, Dr. Becky Enenche assured that the ministry would continue its support across various sectors within Nigeria and beyond. Assistant Corps Marshal Godwin Omiko, representing Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed, praised the donation as a significant contribution to road safety and an inspiration for other Nigerians to contribute to this cause.
Omiko clarified that the donation would not exempt church members from adhering to traffic laws. He stressed that offenders would still face sanctions for violations, reinforcing the importance of obeying traffic regulations.
Mr. Felix Theman, the FCT Sector Commander, reported that 597 people lost their lives in road accidents nationwide from December 15 to January 15. He pointed out that the FCT experienced significant fatalities during this period, especially along the Airport Road. Theman expressed optimism that the donation would enhance enforcement efforts, while also reiterating that it is not an excuse for reckless driving.
Mr. Adaji Usman, the National Coordinator of Special Marshals, commended Dr. Enenche for his long-standing support of the corps over 30 years. Additionally, Mr. Muktar Garga, the Lugbe Unit Commander, expressed gratitude for the timely fulfillment of the vehicle donation, which was promised within two weeks of a formal request.
