Abuja: Director-General of the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS), Prof. Abubakar Sulaiman, has urged Christians to use the period of Easter to pray for national unity and peace ahead of the 2027 general elections. This call to action was made in a statement issued by Sulaiman’s Media Adviser, Mohammad Abdulkadri.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, the director-general highlighted the spiritual significance of Easter, noting that it represents the sacrifices made by Jesus Christ through His crucifixion and resurrection, symbolizing the triumph of light over darkness and life over death. Prof. Sulaiman encouraged Christians to embrace the lessons from Christ’s sacrifices to advance national peace, security, charity, fairness, and peaceful coexistence.
He extended wishes for a peaceful, joyful, and successful Easter celebration, urging Christians to offer special prayers for the peace, progress, and prosperity of the country before, during, and after the 2027 elections.
