Abuja: The Emadeb Energy Group has presented the first oil from the Ibom Field, PPL 236, to Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom during a visit in Uyo, the state capital. The visit focused on showcasing the initial output from the Ibom Field and exploring potential collaboration opportunities with the state government.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, the Group Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Emadeb Group, Mr. Adebowale Olujimi, expressed gratitude to the governor and the state government for their support in fostering a conducive business environment. He highlighted the success of the Ibom Field as evidence of the potential within the state and the country.
Olujimi reiterated the company’s commitment to a mutually beneficial partnership with the state government and appreciated the warm reception given to the delegation. The Ibom Field, known for producing sweet light crude with an assay of 33.8 API, stands as one of the region’s most promising marginal fields, offering significant potential for state revenue, job creation, and economic growth.
The Emadeb Group delegation included Mr. Olujimi, Mrs. Olugbesoye Olujimi (Executive Director), Dr. Segun Ogunsanya (Chief Operating Officer, Emadeb Exploration and Production), Mr. Olawale Ayeni (General Manager, Technical Emadeb Exploration and Production), Mr. Sheriff Adeeyo (Chief Operating Officer, Emadeb Energy), Mrs. Uduak Ugbodagah (Head of HR, Emadeb Energy), and Mr. Jeremiah Achonwa (Head of Legal, Emadeb Energy).
Discussions during the visit covered participation in the Akwa Ibom Gas Monetisation Hub, development of the Ibom Deep Sea Port, and collaboration on infrastructure development and job creation. The governor expressed enthusiasm for the proposed partnerships and highlighted the state’s readiness to engage with the company on various ideas and proposals.
The governor commended Emadeb Energy Group for its commitment to sustainable development and community welfare. He assured the company of the state government’s support and cooperation, affirming the state’s openness to engagements across all ideas and proposals considered by Emadeb Energy Group.
The governor also showed interest in investing or partnering with the operator in the development of the Ibom Field. The visit concluded with the presentation of the first oil from the Ibom Field and a plaque to the Governor, followed by a group photograph.
