Post: Enitonna High School Alumni to Unveil Strategic Development Masterplan in Port Harcourt

Lagos: The National Executive of the Enitonna High School Alumni Association has announced plans to unveil the school’s Strategic Development Masterplan on May 3 in Port Harcourt. The unveiling will occur at a Presidential Luncheon at the Enitonna High School Chapel, Borokiri. Sir Godfrey Ohuabunwa, the National President of the association, made this announcement in a statement on Monday.

According to News Agency of Nigeria, the initiative reflects a collective commitment by alumni and stakeholders to preserve the school’s heritage while preparing it for the future. The association aims to reposition the institution for sustainable growth and global competitiveness. Enitonna High School, established in 1932, is regarded as the oldest secondary school in the old Rivers/Bayelsa states and is known for its academic excellence and leadership.

The masterplan outlines key priorities, including infrastructure renewal, academic advancement, digital transformation, student welfare, institutional sustainability, and enhanced alumni engagement. Ohuabunwa emphasized that the plan represents a reaffirmation of the alumni’s commitment to the growth and long-term advancement of their alma mater. He noted that the school has produced generations of leaders and professionals, and it is the responsibility of alumni to contribute meaningfully to its continued development.

The event, themed ‘Uniting Our Past, Building Our Future,’ is expected to attract alumni, traditional rulers, community leaders, education stakeholders, and industry leaders from across the country and beyond. The occasion will also feature recognition of distinguished alumni who have contributed to the school’s legacy. Enitonna High School was founded on May 2, 1932, by missionary and educationist Rev. Lionel Randall Potts-Johnson. Notable alumni include former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Austin Opara and Sen. Mao Ohuabunwa, a former lawmaker and member of the ECOWAS Parliament. The association described them as exemplifying the values of leadership, integrity, and excellence associated with the institution.
