Abuja: A Nigerian serial entrepreneur and business strategist, Mr. Ezekiel Solesi, has urged Nigerian entrepreneurs to think bigger, stating that the small business mentality remains the greatest obstacle to national economic transformation. Solesi, who is the Chief Executive Officer of LimbSimple, made these remarks at the Futurecast Africa 2026 conference held in Abuja.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, the event was organized in collaboration with IDCL Global, featuring the theme ‘A New Nigeria.’ Solesi emphasized that a new Nigeria could only be realized if entrepreneurs deliberately scaled their businesses to levels capable of employing people gainfully and driving meaningful policy impact. He highlighted the importance of building bigger businesses to ensure that employees are well-fed and capable of understanding policy and leadership.
Solesi pointed out that Nigeria currently operates two parallel economies: one experiencing rising foreign direct investment and another grappling with uncontrolled inflation. He attributed this gap to the dominance of small businesses and urged entrepreneurs to market vigorously, collect business data, progressively structure their organizations, and build strong brands.
Addressing the importance of marketing, Solesi remarked that any entrepreneur not actively marketing is operating with pride, as potential customers are not actively seeking them out. He stressed the importance of paying attention to revenue data as it provides the clearest signal of market demands. Solesi further emphasized the significance of building a strong brand, describing it as an asset that earns a business the benefit of the doubt from customers even when errors occur.
Mrs. Oliwakemi Olorede, CEO of Futurecast Africa and IDCL Global, mentioned that the fifth edition of the conference was designed to challenge Nigerians to take personal responsibility for the country’s future. She stated that every Nigerian, regardless of status, represents the country and plays a role in changing its narrative. Olorede encouraged participants to consider how their daily character and conduct could positively influence those around them, asserting that one person’s integrity could alter another’s entire perception of Nigeria.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that IDCL Global is a Nigerian-based integrated marketing, advertising, and technology company, offering services in digital marketing, public relations, brand strategy, and technology solutions.
