Post: Flood: Youth Ministry Commiserates with Borno State

The Minister of Youth Development, Dr. Jamila Bio Ibrahim, expressed sadness over the flood in Maiduguri, Borno State, North-east Nigeria.

According to a statement by Omolara Esan, the Director of Information and Public Relations, Federal Ministry of Youth Development, Dr. Ibrahim commiserated with Executive Governor Professor Babagana Zulum and the people of Borno State, who lost loved ones, properties, and livelihoods due to the flood.

‘The entire Youth of Nigeria is deeply saddened by the recent flood devastation… which has left a trail of destruction and displacement in its wake,’ Dr. Jamila Bio Ibrahim said.

‘We pray for the quick recovery of the affected areas and the restoration of normalcy to the lives of the people,’ Dr. Ibrahim added.

Dr. Ibrahim also applauded the efforts of the Borno State Government, emergency responders, and humanitarian organizations providing relief and support.

The National Council on Youth Development has been postponed indefinitely in solidarity with the affected comm
unities.

‘We affirm the Ministry’s support to the development of youth in Nigeria and in particular Borno State Youth,’ Dr. Ibrahim assured.
