Post: Former APC Women Leader Urges Support for Tinubu in 2027 Election

Abuja:A former Women Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Federal Capital Territory, Mrs. Hilmary Aipoh, has called on Nigerians, particularly women, to rally behind President Bola Tinubu in the upcoming 2027 presidential election.

According to News Agency of Nigeria, Aipoh made her appeal during a symposium commemorating the 2026 International Rural Women’s Day in Abuja. The event was organized by the Association of Wives of FCT Traditional Rulers in collaboration with the FCT Women Affairs Secretariat.

Aipoh emphasized the substantial influence Nigerian women hold in elections, highlighting their role as the main drivers of voter turnout. She noted that women constitute over 60 percent of active voters in Nigeria and are committed to safeguarding their votes by remaining at polling units for extended periods.

She urged women across the nation to participate actively in the upcoming polls to ensure the re-election of Tinubu, as well as Sen. Philip Aduda to the Senate, and the two APC candidates contesting for the Abuja South and Abuja North Federal Constituencies.

Aipoh praised the contributions of rural women to national growth, particularly through agriculture, and commended the First Lady, Sen. Oluremi Tinubu, for her initiatives in supporting women farmers with grants.

She also expressed confidence in FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, describing his leadership as transformative and beneficial for both infrastructural and human development in the capital territory. Aipoh highlighted Wike’s role in establishing the FCT Women Affairs Secretariat, which she believes has empowered women and fostered a sense of unity among grassroots women.

Aipoh concluded by acknowledging the vital role of women in both household management and national development, underscoring the importance of agriculture to the nation and the dedication of FCT women as farmers.
