Post: Foundation Hails Agwai’s Conferment with Sierra Leone’s National Honour

Abuja: The Bise Dazang Foundation has congratulated Gen. Martin Luther Agwai on his conferment with the Grand Commander of the Order of Rokel (GCOR) by the President of Sierra Leone, Julius Maada Bio. The Trustee of the Bise Dazang Foundation, Nick Dazang, in a congratulatory message issued in Abuja, described the honour as ‘a moment of profound joy and pride’.

According to News Agency of Nigeria, Dazang noted that the prestigious award followed Agwai’s exemplary and luminous contributions toward engendering and consolidating peace in Sierra Leone and the wider West African sub-region. He emphasized the significance of Agwai’s role while serving as Deputy Force Commander of the United Nations Mission in Sierra Leone (UNAMSIL), highlighting his efforts in promoting peace both in Africa and across the globe.

Dazang further stated that the conferment of the award celebrates Agwai, and by extension, Nigeria. He explained that it brought back memories of Nigeria’s past achievements and elevated standing in the international community. This recognition, he added, rekindles hope and inspires citizens to believe in Nigeria’s potential to reclaim its former glory, provided the willpower is summoned.

He concluded by asserting that the recognition, coming decades after Agwai’s contributions, is a testament to the belief that good deeds are eventually acknowledged and rewarded.
