Abuja: Dr Mohammed Bulama, the Director-General of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN), affirmed the corporation’s longstanding role as a platform for dialogue and a catalyst for national development, peace, and unity during its 75th Anniversary celebration in Abuja.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, Bulama emphasized the enduring values of integrity, credibility, and public trust as the foundational pillars that have sustained FRCN over the years. He highlighted the importance of these principles in guiding the corporation into the future, especially in an era marked by misinformation. Bulama called on FRCN staff to embrace creativity, professionalism, and dedication, as these attributes will define the organization’s relevance in the years ahead.
Bulama expressed gratitude to FRCN’s partners and stakeholders for their unwavering support, which has been instrumental in the corporation’s journey. He noted that under President Bola Tinubu’s administration, FRCN has benefited from a conducive working environment and financial support, allowing for significant infrastructure upgrades and human capital development. These improvements include the renovation of FM zonal stations, the procurement of new transmitters, and the introduction of an aggressive program to ensure alternative power supply through solar installations.
The Director-General also highlighted plans to reconstruct a National Broadcasting Academy (NBA) complex and expand its annex in Abuja to ensure continuous training for FRCN’s workforce. Special Adviser to the President on Media and Public Communication, Chief Sunday Dare, urged FRCN to deliver unique, informative, and empowering content to Nigerians, reinforcing the corporation’s role in connecting millions of people.
Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris, unveiled the FRCN logo to commence the anniversary activities. He emphasized the Federal Government’s commitment to modernizing public media infrastructure, noting significant investments in new transmitters to extend FRCN’s reach and maintain its leadership in Nigeria’s radio landscape.
