Post: FRSC Outlines Strategic Goals for Enhanced Road Safety and Operations in 2026

Abuja: The Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Malam Shehu Mohammed, has reaffirmed the corps’ commitment to enhancing operational efficiency, reducing road traffic crashes, and improving emergency response by the year 2026. This announcement was made during the First Quarter 2026 Corps Marshal Strategy Session with the FRSC High Command in Abuja.

According to News Agency of Nigeria, the event, themed ‘Driving Excellence through Performance Review, Strategic Coordination and Enhanced Road Safety Delivery,’ was described by Mohammed as a critical platform to align the corps’ operational strategies with the national priorities outlined under President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda. He emphasized that the strategy session was not a routine engagement but a deliberate effort to strengthen the corps’ role in advancing public safety, enhancing national mobility, and supporting economic activities through safer roads.

The meeting provided an opportunity to review the corps’ 2025 performance, including the outcomes of the Operation Zero Exercise, and to assess existing strategies for repositioning the organization for better service delivery in 2026. Mohammed highlighted the importance of inclusive leadership, shared responsibility, and coordinated policy implementation across all levels, noting that the gathering of management staff, commanding officers, and heads of formations reflects this commitment.

The Corps Marshal stated that the performance review should serve as a strategic tool for identifying operational gaps, reinforcing best practices, and promoting a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement. He set the tone for 2026, emphasizing the need for measurable impact in terms of improved operational efficiency, enhanced enforcement outcomes, reduced road traffic crashes, faster emergency rescue services, and increased public confidence in the corps.

Mohammed commended the officers and men of the FRSC for their dedication, resilience, and commitment, acknowledging that the progress made so far is a testament to their hard work and sacrifice. He urged them to remain focused on achieving greater results and called on participants to approach deliberations with objectivity, professionalism, and a shared vision for a safer Nigeria. He stressed the need for practical, forward-looking, and solution-driven engagements with clear and actionable outcomes, expressing confidence that the session would yield impactful strategies for greater efficiency and effectiveness in the corps.
