Abuja: Gov. Uba Sani of Kaduna State has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) to host and support the 2026 National Public Relations Week (NPRW). Sani made the pledge during an event organized for the signing of the MoU between the Kaduna State Government and the institute.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, Gov. Sani commended the NIPR for selecting Kaduna State to host the 2026 NPRW, assuring that the event would be the most successful in the history of the institute. He emphasized that the theme of the week would focus on agriculture and food security, highlighting the economic importance of agriculture in Kaduna State. Agriculture contributes to 44 percent of the state’s GDP and employs about 60 percent of its workforce. Gov. Sani expressed his pride in hosting the NPRW, emphasizing Kaduna’s role in peace building and the state’s commitment to training traditional rulers, NGOs, and other stakeholders.
The governor assured the institute of the state’s full support to ensure a memorable NPRW, noting Kaduna’s notable sectoral developments. He detailed the state’s efforts in agriculture, collaborations with the Federal Government and China, and initiatives like the free transportation system, skill acquisition projects, and fostering peaceful coexistence between herders and farmers.
Dr. Ike Neliaku, the President of the NIPR, also addressed the event, assuring the governor that the institute was committed to making the 2026 NPRW in Kaduna the best yet. He praised Gov. Sani’s management of the insecurity challenge in the state, acknowledging his ongoing efforts towards inclusive governance. Dr. Neliaku announced plans to honor Gov. Sani as a patron of the institute during the event in Kaduna.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the high point of the event was the signing of the MoU, the presentation of the Reputation Perception Index Report 2025 to Gov. Sani, and the unveiling of the 2026 NPRW logo.
