Anambra State Governor Professor Chukwuma Soludo has affirmed the importance of the upcoming local government election scheduled for September 28, 2024.
The Governor made this declaration during an interactive session on Sunday with All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) candidates at the Prof. Dora Akunyili Women’s Development Center in Awka, the state capital.
The meeting was attended by local government and party chairmen, members of the state working committee, and members of the state executive council. Governor Soludo, who also serves as the National Leader of APGA, praised the party leadership for their efforts and emphasized the need for voter participation on election day, noting that movement would be restricted.
He commended the Anambra State Independent Electoral Commission (ANSIEC) and the State House of Assembly for prioritising the interests of the people of Anambra. Governor Soludo encouraged all aspirants to showcase their plans for the betterment of the state.

APGA State Chairman Barrister Ifeatu Obiokoye praised Governor Soludo’s leadership and expressed confidence in the party’s chances of success in the upcoming election. He emphasised APGA’s commitment to expanding beyond the state’s borders.
The event was attended by Deputy Governor Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim, Speaker of the State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze, Secretary to the State Government Prof. Solo Chukwulobelu, Chief of Staff to the Governor Mr. Ernest Ezeajughi, Principal Secretary to the Governor Barr. Joachin Anaeto, Former Deputy Governor Mr. Emeka Sibudu, and other dignitaries.
