Post: Governors Launch More Developmental Projects Amid Increased Allocations, Says RHA

Abuja: The Renewed Hope Ambassadors (RHA) has announced that state governors are now embarking on more developmental projects, attributing this to increased allocations resulting from the Federal Government’s economic reforms. This was disclosed at a media stakeholders forum held in Abuja, where the RHA emphasized the impact of these reforms on sub-national governments.

According to News Agency of Nigeria, the RHA, a public enlightenment platform supporting President Bola Tinubu’s re-election campaign, mentioned that while the president has faced criticism for his bold economic reforms, the primary beneficiaries have been state governments. The group revealed plans to conduct a tour showcasing both ongoing and completed projects under the current political dispensation. This initiative aims to demonstrate the positive outcomes of the president’s reforms.

Mr. Tunde Rahman, RHA’s Director of Communication, stated that the tour would highlight not only federal projects but also those initiated by governors. “They say seeing is believing, so we want people to see for themselves what the president has done and is doing. The RHA is becoming the major wheel driving the president’s second-term ambition. Thus, the tour is to let people see for themselves that developmental projects are going on everywhere in Nigeria,” Rahman asserted. He added that increased allocations from the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) have enabled governors to undertake more projects, regardless of political affiliation.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, announced that the tour would commence in the North-West Zone. He highlighted the Federal Government’s commitment to executing numerous life-changing projects across all geopolitical zones.

Rabiu Ibrahim, the Special Assistant on Media to the Minister of Information and National Orientation, emphasized the ministry’s role in promoting government achievements. He identified the Nigerian Education Loan Fund as a significant initiative of the current administration.

Mr. Finbarr Zirra, Director of Railway Transport Services at the Federal Ministry of Transportation, outlined progress in the transportation sector, citing substantial investments. Zirra reported that the completion rate of the Kaduna-Kano and Kano-Maradi rail projects increased significantly from mid-2023 to early 2026. He also mentioned efforts to rehabilitate the Port Harcourt-Maiduguri rail line and enhance regional connectivity. However, he expressed concerns about vandalism affecting several projects.

In the health sector, Mr. Nasir Mohammed from the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare highlighted the unprecedented achievements under President Tinubu. These include the Presidential Initiative for Unlocking the Health Care Value Chain (PVAC), aimed at reducing dependency on imported drugs by incentivizing local pharmaceutical companies. Mohammed also noted strengthened regulatory frameworks to support the local production of vaccines and essential medical consumables.
