Abuja: Mr Emeka Nwajiuba, an aspirant for the 2027 Presidential Election, emphasized that good health is critical to Nigeria’s political development, asserting that healthy citizens are better equipped to engage meaningfully in governance and nation-building. Nwajiuba made this statement during a free medical outreach organized for members of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) at the party’s National Secretariat.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, the outreach was organized by the Dr Patrick Ezie Campaign Organisation, a House of Representatives aspirant, in collaboration with the Nwajiuba Solidarity Movement (NSM). The program, themed ‘United for a Healthier Nigeria,’ received support from Silver Cross Hospitals and Foundation, Abuja.
Nwajiuba, who previously served as the Minister of State for Education, described NSM as a coalition of young professionals nationwide committed to reshaping Nigeria’s political landscape and providing new direction. He highlighted the movement as a reflection of a growing awareness among youths, medical professionals, entrepreneurs, and academics who share a common vision for national progress.
He emphasized the necessity for Nigeria to move in a more defined direction, stating, “This movement is about unity of purpose.” Nwajiuba further stressed that national transformation must begin with citizens’ well-being, highlighting that only healthy individuals could think clearly, serve effectively, and contribute positively to the political and economic systems.
“Only citizens who are in good health can participate fully in the democratic process, hence the importance of this medical outreach,” Nwajiuba remarked.
