Lokoja: Sen. Sunday Karimi has announced that Kogi residents are firmly backing President Bola Tinubu’s second term bid in the upcoming 2027 presidential election. The statement was made during an All Progressives Congress (APC) one-day Stakeholders Meeting and Official Endorsement of President Tinubu, held in Lokoja.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, the senator, representing Kogi West Senatorial District, emphasized the significance of the meeting in identifying and addressing any potential obstacles to ensure a strong, unified vote for the President’s re-election in 2027. Karimi highlighted the commitment to keeping Kogi under APC leadership and expressed the intent to persuade all residents to support the President’s bid, acknowledging existing dissatisfaction among some individuals in the state.
The senator stressed the importance of unity and reconciliation, aiming to attract those who feel aggrieved into the APC fold to secure victory for President Tinubu. He also hinted at an impending change in Kogi, urging stakeholders to embrace the transformation for the state’s benefit.
Former governor Idris Wada and Alhaji Suleiman Aliyu, Vice Chairman of the APC Progressive Forum, echoed optimism about the APC’s ability to secure Kogi for President Tinubu in the 2027 election. Wada called for inclusiveness and teamwork, while Aliyu expressed encouragement over the gathering’s purpose in uniting efforts for the state and the President.
The News Agency of Nigeria reported that the meeting was attended by APC stakeholders from all 21 Local Government Areas of Kogi, underscoring its importance for the state’s development and the President’s re-election campaign.
