Ibadan: Gov. Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has issued a cautionary note to his team and loyalists, emphasizing the importance of not allowing personal political ambitions to derail their shared focus and objectives. The governor made this statement during a dinner with key political stakeholders and appointees at his residence in Kolapo Ishola, Ibadan.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, Makinde, in a statement released by his Special Adviser on Media, Dr. Suleimon Olanrewaju, urged all party members and loyalists to remain united to ensure the ongoing development of Oyo State beyond the year 2027. Highlighting the limited number of 51 elective posts available in the upcoming general elections, he pointed out that these positions, set against a population of about 10 million in the state, would require the collective effort and support of the people to be successfully filled.

He emphasized that the people of Oyo State have entrusted him and his team with the responsibility of selecting credible individuals who can carry forward the positive work already in motion.
Makinde stressed that only through sustained unity and teamwork can the benefits of the current administration be continuously delivered to the people of the state. He urged his team to remain steadfast in their efforts, reiterating the necessity of working together for the collective good of Oyo State’s citizens.
