Post: Meitu’s AI Applications Drive 39.5% Increase in Net Profit for 2026 Interim Results


Hong kong: Meitu, Inc. (1357. HK) announced its 2026 Interim Results, revealing a significant growth in net profit. Total revenue from continuing operations rose by 22.1% year-on-year to reach RMB 2.21 billion. The Adjusted Net Profit attributable to Owners of the Company saw an impressive increase of 39.5% YoY, totaling RMB 652 million.

According to News Agency of Nigeria, Meitu’s core business, which focuses on Photo, Video and Design Products, maintained strong growth momentum during the first half of 2026. The revenue from these products increased by 30.9% YoY to RMB 1.77 billion, representing 80% of the company’s total revenue. This growth was primarily driven by an expanding base of paying subscribers and an improvement in Average Revenue Per Paying User (ARPPU).

By June 2026, the total number of paying subscribers for Meitu’s products rose by 19.7% YoY to 18.44 million, with a subscription rate of 6.5%. The Applications for Leisure alone saw paying subscribers increase to 16.09 million, up 18.8% YoY.
The Meitu app maintained its leading position in terms of Monthly Active Users (MAU) within China’s photo tools market, while BeautyCam continued to dominate the camera and photoshooting segment. The AI video editing application, Wink, has gained popularity globally, particularly for its video portrait retouching and AI-powered quality restoration capabilities.

Additionally, paying subscribers of Applications for Productivity grew by 29.8% YoY to 2.35 million. As users continue to engage with AI-powered visual creative workflows, the consumption of AI credits surged by more than 46% sequentially each quarter, totaling an approximate 113% increase across the half-year period.

By the end of June 2026, Meitu’s Applications for Productivity achieved a record high MAU of 33 million, marking a 43.5% YoY increase. The Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) for AI-driven Productivity Applications also expanded significantly, reaching approximately RMB 620 million.

Meitu’s globalization efforts continued to progress with g
lobal MAU reaching 282 million, and MAU in markets outside of Mainland China consistently exceeding 100 million. The growth in global paying subscribers was particularly notable in markets outside of Mainland China, where it approximately doubled the growth within Mainland China. The majority of new overseas paying subscribers were from high-ARPPU regions, including East Asia, Latin America, and Europe.
