Abuja: The Ministry of Justice will ensure that retirement benefits and entitlements are processed with diligence, transparency, and respect for the rights of retirees, says Solicitor-General of the Federation, Mrs. Beatrice Jedi-Agba. Jedi-Agba, who also serves as the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Justice, provided this assurance during a send-forth ceremony honoring the ministry’s 2025 retirees.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, Jedi-Agba emphasized the importance of appreciating, respecting, and celebrating those who have served the nation. She noted that the ceremony was a reflection of the ministry’s commitment to recognizing and honoring faithful service, aligning with principles of good governance and humane administration.
Jedi-Agba highlighted that the retirees’ careers exemplified core public service values, such as discipline, integrity, loyalty, professionalism, and patriotism, through their involvement in policy formulation, program implementation, and institutional reforms. She acknowledged the decades of selfless service and dedication provided by these officers, who have devoted the prime years of their lives to serving the nation.
She further commented that retirement should be viewed not as the end of one’s career but as a transition into a new phase of life, offering opportunities for rest, personal fulfillment, and continued societal contributions in various capacities. Jedi-Agba assured the retirees that, despite their formal exit from active service, their experience, wisdom, and counsel remain invaluable to the public service and the nation.
The ceremony also included the presentation of gifts to the retirees, acknowledging their dedicated and selfless service to the nation.
