Freetown: The Ministry of Social Welfare has secured essential Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) materials for the Daru Rehabilitation Center, an important step toward strengthening workplace safety and supporting effective service delivery for frontline personnel.
According to Sierra Leone News Agency, in line with its ongoing commitment to staff welfare, institutional cooperation, and improved public service delivery, the Ministry, through the Deputy Director, submitted a formal request to the Ministry of Health and Sanitation in Kenema District for IPC materials. The request was made to support the Social Services Officer and the Assistant Social Worker assigned to the Daru Rehabilitation Center.
Following the request, the Ministry of Health and Sanitation responded promptly by providing one gallon of hand sanitizer, one gallon of liquid soap, three packets of face masks, three packets of hand gloves, and two Veronica buckets with receivers.
These materials were officially received and handed over to the Hospital Matron for the use of the social workers attached to the Daru Rehabilitation Center. Their availability will strengthen infection prevention measures, improve occupational safety, and support the uninterrupted delivery of rehabilitation and social welfare services.
The Ministry of Social Welfare expresses sincere appreciation to the Ministry of Health and Sanitation for its timely response and continued collaboration. This support demonstrates the value of strong inter-ministerial partnership in promoting safe, efficient, and responsive service delivery at the Daru Rehabilitation Center.
