Post: NACCIMA Honored for Contributions to Technical and Vocational Education

Lagos: The Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA) has been awarded the Outstanding Private Sector Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Partner Award 2026. This accolade acknowledges NACCIMA’s role in promoting industry-led skills development and enhancing collaboration between the private sector and training institutions.

According to News Agency of Nigeria, the award was received by the Director-General, Mr. Sola Obadimu, on behalf of NACCIMA during a conference held from June 8 to 10 in Lagos. The event was organized by the Federal Ministry of Education in collaboration with the Lagos State Government through the Lagos State Technical and Vocational Education Board (LASTVEB).

The conference, themed ‘Harnessing TVET as a Pathway to Employment: Building a System for Employability, Inclusion, and Green Growth in Nigeria,’ highlighted the importance of shaping technical and vocational education to fit labor market needs. The award signifies NACCIMA’s persistent efforts in promoting frameworks that align with these needs.

The statement noted that NACCIMA remains committed to supporting initiatives that bridge skills gaps, improve youth employability, and foster enterprise development. The association emphasized its dedication to working with stakeholders to enhance Nigeria’s TVET ecosystem, ensuring alignment with industry demands and national priorities.

The conference gathered participants from government, industry, academia, and development partners to discuss strategies for leveraging technical and vocational education as a catalyst for economic growth. It was supported by various international partners, including the French Government, Agence Fran§aise de D©veloppement (AFD), German Government through GIZ-SKYE, European Union, ECOWAS, Skills Initiative for Africa (SIFA), Swiss Government, and UNESCO.
