Post: NGX Group and Asagba of Asaba Collaborate to Enhance Investment Opportunities in Delta

Lagos: The Nigerian Exchange Group (NGX) has entered into a partnership with the Asagba of Asaba, Prof. Epiphany Azinge, with the aim of unlocking investment opportunities to support economic development in Delta. The collaboration was unveiled during the NGX Closing Gong Ceremony in Lagos, which was held in honor of the traditional ruler and to mark the launch of the Corporate Nigeria Investment Forum.

According to News Agency of Nigeria, the event provided a platform for the Asaba Community to engage with capital market operators, fostering partnerships and gaining insights into potential investment avenues. Prof. Azinge emphasized the community’s commitment to investment-driven development, highlighting the favorable environment for investors. Key sectors identified for focus include real estate, hospitality, agro-economy, and tourism.

Prof. Azinge expressed confidence in the robustness of Nigeria’s capital market despite prevailing challenges, commending the NGX leadership for its efforts in enhancing market activities. He noted, “From what I have seen and from the months ahead, I have no doubt whatsoever that the state of the capital market in Nigeria is very strong.” He further reiterated the community’s initiative to attract investment and explore critical areas of development both locally and across Africa.

The discussions with NGX officials have positioned the Asaba Community to better access capital to achieve its development goals. Azinge also described the chance to ring the NGX closing gong as both historic and memorable.

Earlier in the ceremony, Dr. Umaru Kwairanga, Chairman of NGX Group, highlighted that the partnership with the Asagba of Asaba underscores the significance of collaboration in driving economic growth. He remarked that the Corporate Nigeria Investment Forum aims to bring together stakeholders from various sectors to unlock investment opportunities, emphasizing the impactful role of traditional institutions in economic development.

Kwairanga affirmed NGX’s commitment to collaborating with capital market operators to realize this initiative, which is expected to foster closer ties with communities and open up replicable opportunities across other states. He reiterated NGX’s dedication to supporting the Federal Government’s vision of building a one trillion-dollar economy through its platform, expertise, and technology, thereby strengthening connections between the capital market and sub-national entities.
