Post: Nigeria to Host 2025 International Civil Service Conference, Confirms Walson-Jack


Abuja: The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs. Didi Walson-Jack, has announced that preparations are underway for Nigeria to host the 2025 International Civil Service Conference Week. Walson-Jack made this announcement while speaking at the May edition of the monthly Walking/Jogging and Aerobics event organized by the Federation of the Public Service Games (FEPSGA) in Abuja.



According to News Agency of Nigeria, the event is set to attract key stakeholders and experts in public administration from around the world. The conference week will feature various activities, including a special walking/jogging exercise on June 28 and an Awards Night for recognition and reward. Walson-Jack emphasized the importance of active participation, citing the Civil Service anthem’s message of “marching to greatness.”



Walson-Jack, serving as the Chief Guest Jogger and Captain, praised the event as a testament to public servants’ commitment to healthy living and workplace productivity. She commended FEPSGA President, Mr. Amaebi Aluko, and his team for promoting physical wellness and unity across the service through regular fitness initiatives.



The Head of Service expressed gratitude to the government and people of Rivers for successfully hosting the 2024 edition of the Games, acknowledging their hospitality as crucial to the event’s success. She also shared her personal commitment to physical wellness dating back to her time as a director and later as a permanent secretary.



Walson-Jack encouraged civil servants of all ranks to incorporate exercise into their lifestyles, viewing it as both a personal responsibility and a contribution to effective public service. Aluko praised Walson-Jack’s support for sports and wellness in the public sector, highlighting her presence as a strong endorsement of the role of sports in enhancing productivity across Ministries, Departments, and Agencies.



Mrs. Patience Oyekunle, Permanent Secretary, Service Welfare Office, Office of HCSF, also called on public servants to prioritize their physical and mental well-being to enhance productivity and service delivery. She described the exercise as a step toward fostering a healthier, more energized workforce, marking a commitment to well-being and excellence in public service.
