Florence: Nigerian-Italian artiste, Charles Onyeabor, performed as the sole opening act for one of America’s biggest hip-hop acts, Offset, at an exclusive concert in Florence, Italy.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, the development reflects the increasing global recognition of emerging African talents with cross-cultural identities. Onyeabor’s appearance on the lineup placed him on the same stage with Offset, highlighting the growing acceptance of African-influenced sounds in mainstream global music circuits.
‘This opportunity shows that African artistes with diverse cultural backgrounds are gaining more global visibility,’ Onyeabor said. ‘It is a privilege to share the stage with one of America’s biggest rappers, and it reflects how far African music has travelled,’ he added.
