Post: Nkom Elected into AfHF Executive Board in Egypt


Ismailia: The President of the Nigeria Hockey Federation (NHF), Simon Nkom, has been elected to the Executive Board of the African Hockey Federation (AfHF) at its 25th Ordinary Congress in Ismailia, Egypt. The congress brought together hockey administrators and stakeholders from across the continent, marking a new chapter in the leadership structure of African hockey.



According to News Agency of Nigeria, Nkom’s election is regarded as recognition of his dedication and contributions to the growth and development of hockey in Nigeria and beyond. In his remarks, Nkom expressed appreciation for the confidence reposed in him by his peers and reaffirmed his commitment to advancing the sport at the continental level.



The congress also honoured Nigeria’s Prof. Ediga Agbo, who completed a 10-year tenure as a member of the AfHF Executive Board. He was recognised by the President of the International Hockey Federation (FIH), Tayyab Ikram, and the President of the African Hockey Federation, Seif Ahmed, for his contributions to the sport’s administration and development in Africa.



The federation described Nkom and Agbo’s achievements as a testament to Nigeria’s influence in continental hockey and their dedication to nurturing the dream of sustained hockey excellence.
