Post: NRM Presidential Candidate Unveils Blueprint to Address Systemic Challenges in Nigeria

Abuja:Presidential candidate Dr. Esther Okereke of the National Rescue Movement (NRM) has announced her detailed blueprint aimed at addressing Nigeria’s systemic challenges. Okereke, one of only two presidential candidates in the 2027 general elections, emphasized her commitment to realistic policies during a personality interview series.

According to News Agency of Nigeria, Okereke believes her candidacy represents hope for rescuing Nigeria from decades of systemic failure. She noted that the large number of presidential candidates indicates a need for change, contrasting this with fewer governorship candidates in Abia, where the incumbent is perceived as performing well.

Okereke outlined her “ESTHER” agenda, which includes plans for energy, education, economic renaissance, security, social welfare, technology, transformation, transparency, healthcare, housing, enterprise, employment, resuscitation, recovery, and reorientation. Her energy plan involves generating 20,000 megawatts and implementing mini-grids to supply communities. She also aims to improve education infrastructure, viewing basic amenities as a right rather than charity.

The NRM candidate proposed measures to enhance social welfare and address security issues. Her technology policy includes creating 500,000 tech jobs for youth annually and using technology to combat corruption. Okereke also addressed housing shortages, proposing a N500,000 minimum wage to help workers afford low-cost housing and improve their quality of life.

Drawing inspiration from Singapore’s economic development, Okereke highlighted Nigeria’s untapped resources and potential. Her plan emphasizes investing in human capital to boost the country’s GDP and using recovered stolen wealth for infrastructure development.

Okereke underscored her experience across various sectors as a foundation for transforming Nigeria. Her vision includes leveraging the nation’s natural resources and human capital to drive economic growth and national recovery.
