Abuja: The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), in collaboration with Tantita Security Services Nigeria Ltd, has inaugurated a sophisticated Command and Control Centre aimed at enhancing security operations across Nigeria.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, this initiative aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s vision to boost the nation’s security infrastructure and economic potential.
Tantita’s Managing Director, Kestin Ebimorbowei, represented by Capt. Warredi Enisuoh, emphasized that the centre, while located in Abuja, will expand its operational scope beyond the capital. The facility is designed for real-time event management and to support the NSCDC’s core mandate of security oversight. Enisuoh highlighted the significance of this development as a starting point for future advancements.
Enisuoh also expressed gratitude towards the NSCDC operatives for their support in protecting Tantita guards, who are unarmed. He acknowledged the sacrifices made by the corps, including the loss of personnel, and emphasized Tantita’s commitment to supporting the families of fallen operatives. He praised the ongoing collaboration between Tantita and the NSCDC, describing it as exemplary.
NSCDC Commandant General, Ahmed Audi, expressed appreciation for the fully equipped facility and the donation of two new Hilux vehicles by Tantita. The Command and Control Centre is named the ‘Nuhu Ribadu Hydrocarbon and Maritime Security Command and Control Centre’ and is interconnected with the National Security Adviser’s Office to foster collaboration.
Audi noted that the centre will facilitate the dissemination and sharing of credible information among security agencies, which is crucial for national growth and development. The centre is expected to significantly enhance the NSCDC’s operations related to hydrocarbon and maritime security.
Dr. Innocent Ezuma, Executive Chairman of Zuma Energy Power Ltd, contributed to the initiative by donating a building for VIP services, underscoring its role in improving operational efficiency and national security. Ezuma’s representative, Nwoko Alex, highlighted the centre’s potential to deliver immediate economic benefits and enhance Nigeria’s global business position.
Additionally, in celebration of World Civil Defence Day on March 1, the NSCDC inaugurated a Fire station, a 24-unit staff quarters, and virtually opened the NSCDC Bauchi state command complex.
