Post: NSE Lagos Branch Visits Industries to Strengthen Collaboration

Lagos: The Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Lagos Branch, on Tuesday visited three companies on the Lagos-Sagamu Expressway in an effort to strengthen collaboration and enhance professional development.

According to News Agency of Nigeria, the companies visited are XCMG Nigeria Company Ltd., Howo Sinotruk Nigeria, and CBC Global Civil and Building Construction Nigeria Ltd.

During the visit to XCMG, the Chairman of NSE, Lagos Branch, Mrs. Olukorede Kesha, commended the company’s management for support and partnership with the society. Kesha thanked the General Manager of XCMG Nigeria, Mr. Sam Wang, describing him as generous and supportive of the engineering profession in Nigeria. She noted the company’s financial contributions and commitment to fostering a collaborative environment for engineering professionals.

Kesha expressed intentions to strengthen collaboration with XCMG by recommending the company to engineers across various fields. She mentioned plans to send about 10 students to the company for a six-month industrial attachment and to recommend fresh engineering graduates for training and potential employment. The visit is part of the NSE’s continuous professional development programme aimed at providing engineers with practical industry experience.

Kesha highlighted that XCMG was chosen for the visit due to its commitment to training local engineers and promoting technology transfer. Wang welcomed the delegation and expressed appreciation for the visit, noting XCMG’s commitment to developing local professionals alongside providing quality equipment. The visit included facility tours and interactive sessions, fostering a collaborative dialogue between the visiting engineers and the company’s officials.
