Abuja: The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) says candidates who currently see ‘No Result Yet’ while checking their UTME results are underage applicants whose results have not been released. This is contained in a statement issued by JAMB’s Public Communication Advisor, Dr. Fabian Benjamin.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, the message does not indicate a technical error, but reflects the status of candidates who do not yet meet the eligibility requirements for admission. Dr. Benjamin clarified that only candidates who would be at least 16 years old by September 30, 2026, are eligible to register for and sit the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), except in special cases.
Underage candidates may be considered under an exceptional category if they demonstrate outstanding academic ability, Benjamin noted. This includes scoring 320 and above in the UTME and attaining at least 80 percent in subsequent screening exercises. Only underage candidates who meet the 320 UTME benchmark will be shortlisted and invited for further screening.
The arrangement was reached and endorsed by the parents of the affected candidates. Dr. Benjamin emphasized that for now, results for underage candidates remain unreleased.
