Abuja: The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate for the August 15 Osun election, Bola Oyebamiji, has pledged that his administration will not be guided by hypocrisy if elected.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, Oyebamiji made the remarks during a political campaign in Ilesa on Thursday ahead of the election. He assured the citizens that his government would not deceive or lie to the people. “I can assure you that our government will not be guided by hypocrisy,” he stated, emphasizing a commitment to honest governance.
Oyebamiji also emphasized equitable resource distribution, pledging not to concentrate state resources in one community or town. He assured that he would govern fairly and responsibly. Highlighting his extensive experience, Oyebamiji mentioned his 30-year career in the banking industry, where he rose to the position of General Manager without any blemish on his record.
The APC candidate further elaborated on his public service roles, having served as Head of the Osun State Investment Company Limited, Commissioner for Finance, and Managing Director of the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA). He affirmed his preparedness and the experience he has gained over the last 16 years to effectively govern the state.
In addition, Oyebamiji promised to complete all abandoned projects in Ilesa if elected, stating that their budget would be based on the needs of the citizens. “We will give the people what they want, not what we want,” he said.
The Owa Obokun of Ijesaland, Oba Adesuyi Haastrup, expressed his support by praying for Oyebamiji’s success at the polls. The traditional ruler also commended the Federal Government for the dualisation of the Ibadan-Ife-Ilesa road.
